Where is my free tutorial?
When ordering online from us you immediately receive the links to your tutorials (if there is a tutorial for the item) in
A) the browser window upon completion of purchase and
B) in the email receipt to your email box.
Your free tutorials can also be conveniently downloaded from 2 different places:
a) Tutorials link on the navigation bar at the bottom of the page.
b) Free tutorials link on the navigation bar on top of the page. Click Free Stuff and select Free Tutorials.
I can't register...
The site keeps telling me, that I am registered already.
If your email address is on file already you are a member and should have received your member codes in the email. If you want to re-register please use a different email address this time or contact us for assistance.
About the formats
ZIP or SIT
Makes files smaller for internet transport. Files can be zipped (compressed = smaller) and need to be unzipped (uncompressed = back to original size) before viewing. Mac users know a simmilar system called StuffIt and Stuffit expander. All our Mac friends can choose to download .sit files from our e-trix range for Palm, our iPhone trix are all zipped because your new Mac can handle it. Stuffit can read SIT and ZIP files.
Winzip is a software available for free and also part of most standard PC and Mac computers. If you don't have Winzip you should download it. It's free and it comes in very useful for a lot of projects. www.winzip.com

If you get an error message "Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive of file corrupted" you should get the latest unzipping software. This will do it. Details here. (Note, that with Stuffit you don't get these problems...).
Windows users seem to have huge issues with downoading and unzipping our files. Unfortunately it's simply a question of using the right software to complete the right task so please do not blame us and our products (because they work) but try to utilize the right tools.
PRC
It's the PalmOS' application format. You load a .prc into the Palm via hotsync. It's just like running an .exe file on a PC. So it's the extention for Palm Software and is the file you will install onto your PDA.
m4v and iPhone videos
m4v is one of the tastiest video formats out right now and the only one that will play on the iPhone. So if you try to open one of our iPhone video files on your normal computer you may simply get an error message because the file is intended to be played on the iPhone, not your PC. Drag the file into your iTunes (yes, your iTunes window is open and your unzipped m4v is open in another window and your mouse moves the video file into the iTunes). In the iPhone tab go to videos, movies, check the sync movies box and check the box of the file you just dragged below. This will prepare the file to sync to your iPhone. Now click Sync (bottom right) and it will move the file to your iPhone. This is all common knowledge conveyed in the manual that came with your iPhone!
Why do my iPhone videos stop working?
You found an iPhone bug.
We did some testing and here is what we found:
If you "interrupt" a movie within the last seconds of play time by hitting the home button on your iPhone you'll get the following:
Next time you call the movie the screen is black and nothing seems to work except you seeing the play controls.
If you interrupt a movie anywhere else than within that last stretch the iPhone behaves just fine and picks up where it left off.
Workaround for this iPhone bug:
In the black screen hit the "skip to beginning"-button. Now all of a sudden iPhone remembers what it was meaning to do the last time and gives you the "delete or keep movie"-prompt.
Hit "keep movie" and you're set.
When performing our effects (or viewing any video) make sure you let the file run until the "delete or keep"-prompt shows up.
PDF
Stands for Portable Document Format.
To make sure, that every platform (Mac or IBM/Windows etc.) can read a document some creative minds at Adobe invented this software Acrobad reader, that turns any document into a platform natural file. If you don't have Acrobat Reader you can download it for free. It's the best format to make documents viewable on any computer (PC, Mac etc.). You need this software a lot when working on the Internet. It's free. Get it from Adobe: Acrobat Reader

The whole manual as a Word 97 file. Most PCs and Macs can read this kind of file. However it needs the software Word for Windows or Word for Macintosh which nowadays is part of any standard office package.

WebTV
The whole manual as a WebTV document. You view the manual directly from the WebSite on your TV. No downloading necessary. It does not look as pretty as the other formats but all the information is there.
How do I download?
Easy as pie!
Let's go
Click on the appropriate download link in our DownloadZone page and this window will open.

It asks you whether you want to view the document online or if you want to download it to your hard drive (the main disk on your computer).
Because the document is pretty big you should download it to your hard drive. Click the Save to disk button. Click OK.
A new window opens asking you where exactly on your hard disk you would like to save the file.

Click through the directories and find a nice place for our manual. Important: Remember where you saved it to or else you won't find it after the download.
Hint: Save it to your desktop (the very back window with all the important stuff on, the window you first see when the computer starts up.) Do this by clicking the desktop button in this save-window.
Click save.

This is the status bar, which you will see while the file is being downloaded. The blue rectangles tell you how much of the file has been transfered to your computer already. The window will tell you when you are done.
Now our download file is on your computer. That was easy!
How do I view the manual?

Where do I need my password?
There are 2 kinds of passwords:
A) Passwords to get into the member zone (where our free tutorials are)
B) Passwords to open downloaded documents
You will not need it for downloading. You will need it to open the documents. If you are on a WebTV set you will need it to view the manual and will be prompted for it. Once your manual is downloaded and you have the necessary softwares to decompress and view it you simply double click the file and either the Zip program will open or Acrobat Reader will show up. At this point you will see a prompt for your code/password. Enter the code you received along with your product (usually in the instructions). If a second prompt appears asking stuff about write protect etc. simply ignore it. This second prompt is only used by authors of the manuals and allows them to make changes. You won't need that.
My password doesn't work!
Yes, it does! You just mixed up the different passwords!
There are 2 kinds of passwords:
A) Passwords to get into the member zone
B) Passwords to open downloaded documents
When entering the download zone (or member zone) you are asked for your membership codes. They were emailed to you upon completion of registration.
This will get you into the member zone and download area.
When trying to open a downloaded document you are being asked for the product password that came with your original item. This is NOT your member code or name. You will find the product code in the original instructions that came with the product.
So when you open the dowloaded file and the password prompt box appears simply get your orignial product manual and find the code at the bottom of the instuctions. Put it in and you're all set to view this elaborate tutorial.
I know it sort of gets confusing with all these codes but there is no better way at this point to prevent unauthorized people from viewing information that is reserved to our dear customers and members.

I found an "invalid file" in my download package...
It's not an invalid file. It's a zip, pdf, sit or prc and your computer does not recognize it because you have not set-up the according software on your computer to understand the file.

How do I buy/register software
Go to the product page of the item you like and
simply click "buy now" or "add to cart". After completing the secure online checkout procedure you will instantly receive an email with links and codes to your registered software.

Where is my registered version? I purchased your software but cannot find the license code/registration key
After purchasing the license online you immediately received 2 options for downloading your copy:
A) Our Thank You page upon successful completion of order will list your links.
B) The email with your receipt of purchase including a link or a list of links.
This link will get you to your personal download page.

Click the link or paste it into your browser window and follow the instructions.
All information you need about how to install is given to you on your personal download page, so read, please!
If another key is needed it will clearly say so on your download page:
This for instance is the AbraPick download page which you
accessed via your emailed code. It features instructions and displays another code which you will need during installation. Copy/Paste this code if needed during installation.
There is even a download link for the registration code. You may download it and access it with your "browse" button during installation so you won't have to type it.
How do I update, upgrade to a new version? Where is the update?
Just whip out the old email receipt you got when originally purchasing your software. Follow the instructions there or just look above. Whenver we update a software we re-activate your download page so you can go there just like when you first got our software and download the newest version.
If you cannot find the receipt (you should keep stuff like that for taxes!) you will surely still have the old owners manual (tutorial.pdf) with a password in the end. Email us enclosing the password and we will manually install a new download link for you.
My registered Palm Software is not working
Yes it is. You did not hotsync properly. After downloading your registered software you must first hotsync the new registered .prc (palm file) onto your handheld. This will immediately activate all functions of your trial version and turn it into a fully working, registered version.
How do I install something on the Palm?
Quick and dirty:
Nothing easier than that. Double click the downloaded Palm file (*.prc). Your Palm Desktop (TM) will open (or at least a nice little window) asking you if you would like this software to be installed on your Palm on your next Hotsync (TM).
Click OK. Now perform a Hotsync by pushing the appropriate button on your Palm Cradle. It is vital that you perform a Hotsync after approving the above question. For details on Hotsync please refer to your Palm manual or go to www.palm.com
Where are my instructions?
You downloaded a ZIP or SIT archive containing a registered software version ready to install, a text file, telling you what to do AND an elaborate manual in PDF. The manual is called ....instructions. If you need help with "PDF" please check help above.

Orders below that amount are $4.95 for shipping and handling (insured, traceable).
